What Is In-Chair Teeth Whitening?
In-chair whitening is a professional cosmetic dental treatment performed at our clinic using Zoom! whitening products.
The treatment is completed in one appointment, with most patients spending approximately 60 to 90 minutes in the chair.
During the session:
- A professional-grade whitening gel is applied to the teeth
- The treatment is performed under dentist supervision
- Results are visible immediately after the appointment
Individual results vary depending on enamel condition and type of staining.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your dentist will guide you through each step of the process to ensure comfort and safety.
You may experience:
- Temporary dryness due to keeping your mouth open
- Mild sensitivity during or after treatment
If needed, we can provide comfort measures during your appointment. You’ll also receive sensitivity-relief toothpaste and gel to use at home following treatment.
Aftercare Advice
To help maintain your results and minimise sensitivity, we recommend avoiding the following for 48 hours after treatment:
- Hot or cold foods and drinks
- Strongly coloured foods or beverages such as red wine, berries, coffee, and cola
Your dentist will review personalised aftercare instructions with you before you leave the practice.
